Coming Down on the 18th

My Brothers,

I have come to the time right now that I am not poor and I will be coming down on the 18th or March (St Pats weekend)  and I am pumped to meet the PM’s.  I am going to try to get IUP by the late afternoon so I can catch some profs and everyone that I wont see while I am out.  I hope that Everyones spring break is going well or ending on a good note.  See you all soon.

Wish you all a Happy Christmas and New Year!!

Just wanted to post something giving my regards to all the brothers of Zeta Tau. Being a Sinfonian has meant a lot to me making me who I am. Regardless I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Honorary brother Frank Ticheli visits IUP.

This past weekend, IUP hosted “The Music of Frank Ticheli” in Fisher Auditorium, IUP Performing Arts Center. The concert featured Frank Ticheli, who was recently made an honorary brother at the most recent national convention, as guest conductor. Performances of his music were given by all three IUP concert bands, the IUP Chamber Singers, and the UniversityNovember 12, 2010 Chorus.

Ticheli is well known for his works for concert band, many of which have become standards in the repertoire. His orchestral and choral works have received considerable recognition in the U.S. and Europe.

Nu Psi Brothers in the emergency room

This message was written by Brother Sextn one of Sinfonias’ National PAC’s:

Brothers,

This sad message came in from Nu Psi President Chaz Stuart this morning. Matt Breeden and Michael Petyak were assaulted last night right across from Shenandoah’s main campus in Winchester, VA; the assault was completely unprovoked. Michael was injured but fortunately spared long-term hospitalization. Matt is not so firtunate and requires surgery. I called the hospital and spoke with Matt’s mother, and he is in pretty rough shape. He will need a team of surgeons to fix the face/head trauma he suffered from the attack. Matt is paying his own way through college and could not afford insurance. He will not be able to work and is still looking for a job, and between the surgery and all the bills accrued, Matt will be struggling for some time.

I come to you on Matt’s behalf. He has only a mother who is in the terminal stages of cancer, and a brother…and us. I refuse to let the Thracians that did this rob Matt of any future he could have. Donations, fundraisers, benefit concerts…let’s do something! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

In the spirit of our eldest brother Orpheus,
Christopher E. Sexton

ZT Brothers go Caroling!

Last Thursday, brothers went Christmas caroling in a local Indiana neighborhood. As payment for our lovely singing voices, we collected non-perishable food items to donate to a local food bank. The night was a great success! We were greeted warmly at every house and collected enough food to fill the trunk of a car in the process!

Great work everyone, and Happy Holidays to all!
